Cosgrove was assigned to Triple-A Rochester on Friday after clearing outright waivers.
Cosgrove will stay in the Nationals organization in the minors after being designated for assignment Wednesday. Across 30 appearances in Triple-A this season, Cosgrove has a 4.15 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 32:22 K:BB over 30.1 innings.
