Turner got the start at second base Sunday, going 2-for-7 with his first stolen base of the season in an 18-inning loss to the Pirates.

He showed some jitters in extra innings, bobbling a potential double-play ball and then getting thrown out at second base trying to stretch a single in the 17th, but Turner also showed flashes of being the dynamic leadoff hitter his minor league performance suggests he can be. He only got into the lineup with Daniel Murphy (hamstring) unavailable and Anthony Rendon (illness) a late scratch, though, so it seems clear manager Dusty Baker doesn't view Turner as quite ready for regular duty.
