Senzel elected free agency Wednesday, James Fegan of SoxMachine.com reports.
Senzel cleared waivers after being removed from the White Sox's 40-man roster earlier this week and has opted to hit the open market rather than accepting an outright assignment. The 29-year-old has slashed only .195/.283/.331 over 74 games this season between the Nationals and White Sox.
