Asher (2-3) allowed two runs on three hits while striking out five over 6.1 innings to earn the win Friday against the Red Sox.
Asher had a 3-1 lead going into the seventh inning, but after giving up another run, the bullpen took over to close out the victory. After getting rocked in his last start, this outing will buy him more time in the rotation with Ubaldo Jimenez remaining relegated to the bullpen. For now, Asher remains a speculative add for fantasy owners, as his 3.62 ERA was mostly established through his work in the bullpen. He'll make his next start Thursday against the Nationals.
