Irvin allowed two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out three over 4.1 innings Tuesday against the Dodgers. He did not factor into the decision.
Irvin produced numbers nearly identical to those from his first start back after being called up from Triple-A Norfolk. He didn't give up much hard contact outside of a triple from Tommy Edman, but Irvin was pulled at 60 pitches and has now failed to reach five innings in any of his last five starts. With Zach Eflin (shoulder) expected to return Sunday, Irvin will likely either get sent to the bullpen or possibly bumped from the roster. He owns a 4.79 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 71:25 K:BB in 103.1 innings.
