Verrett was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Monday.

The right-hander was called up Sunday to provide extra bullpen depth, but he'll head back to the minors after hurling 2.2 innings in relief immediately after being recalled. Miguel Castro will take his spot in Baltimore's bullpen, but Verrett could end up back in the majors once he's available to pitch again.
