Mountcastle was diagnosed with a bruised left hand Tuesday after X-rays came back negative, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.
The 24-year-old was hit by a 93 mph pitch during Wednesday's game against the Twins, which eventually forced him to leave the contest. Mountcastle appears to have avoided a serious injury and should be considered day-to-day.
