Cordoba started at shortstop and went 1-for-3 in Tuesday's loss to the Rangers.
The 21-year-old was expected to be part of a rotation in left field to replace Travis Jankowski (foot), but Cory Spangenberg has taken control of the position. With the recent trade for the right-handed Matt Szczur, it appears that Cordoba will see the majority of his playing time as a pinch-hitter while spelling Erick Aybar at short.
