Davis elected free agency Saturday after being cast off San Diego's 40-man roster and clearing waivers, but he'll return to the organization on a minor-league deal. The 31-year-old is likely to report to Triple-A El Paso, with whom he's logged a 3.10 ERA across 29 innings this season.
