D'Arnaud started and went 0-for-2 with a walk in Tuesday's win over the Cubs.
The 30-year-old has quietly been stealing starts from Erick Aybar at short recently, starting four of the Padres' last six contests. D'Arnaud doesn't provide a whole lot of offense, but a regular role and shortstop eligibility may be enough for very deep or NL-only owners to give him a look.
