Merrill was a bright spot in an otherwise forgettable effort by the Padres, launching a 425-foot blast in the sixth inning. The 23-year-old has now homered three times in his past six games, and he's gone deep seven times with 21 RBI in 25 August contests. On the season, he's slashing .241/.293/.424 with 22 home runs, 69 RBI, 70 runs scored and 24 steals across 553 plate appearances.
