Bell is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Nationals, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.
Bell is 1-for-30 over the past seven games and will head to the bench Friday for the first time since being acquired by the Padres at the trade deadline. Wil Myers will enter the lineup at first base and bat sixth.
