Campusano took Gerrit Cole deep for a 343-foot long ball to lead off the seventh inning and give the Padres a 4-0 lead. The 27-year-old backstop has started the past four games -- two at catcher, two at designated hitter -- and has gone 4-for-14 with two home runs during that stretch. So long as he continues to swing a hot bat, Campusano should have a fairly clear path to steady playing time.
