Machado (ankle) isn't starting Wednesday's game against Arizona.
Machado hoped that he'd be in the lineup or available off the bench Tuesday against the Diamondbacks, but he didn't take the field. He'll remain out of the lineup for a ninth consecutive game during Wednesday's series finale in Arizona, and it's unclear whether he'll be available in a depth role. Ha-Seong Kim is shifting to third base while CJ Abrams starts at shortstop.
