Scott gave up a hit and struck out one in a scoreless 10th inning Saturday to record his 19th save of the season in a 9-8 win over the Marlins.

Facing the club that sent him west at the trade deadline, Scott needed only 12 pitches (eight strikes) to dispatch his former teammates in the 10th after Robert Suarez had worked a perfect ninth. It was Scott's first save in a Padres uniform, and he also has a win and two holds in five appearances for San Diego with a 3.86 ERA and 5:3 K:BB in 4.2 innings. While Suarez remains entrenched as the closer, Scott has quickly found a home in the high-leverage crew.
