Irvin was optioned to the alternate training site after Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader versus the Braves, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Irvin earned a spot on the Opening Day roster but allowed four runs on five hits over one frame during his lone appearances. The 26-year-old will look to receive another chance with the Phillies later in the season.
