Ellis signed a minor-league contract with the Phillies on Sunday.
The 27-year-old infielder will be moving on to the third organization of his career after stints with Arizona and Seattle. Ellis saw 35 games' worth of big-league action between the 2021 and 2022 seasons, slashing .141/.270/.212 over 100 career plate appearances in the majors. Expect him to report to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
