Crawford had his contract selected from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday.
As expected, Crawford will join the big club for the first time since being drafted as a first-round pick in 2013. The 22-year-old turned things around after a slow start to the season, putting together a .285/.385/.544 line with 13 homers in 228 at-bats since the beginning of July. He's expected to see playing time at shortstop, second base and third base in order to get him at-bats down the stretch. Pedro Florimon (ankle) was shifted to the 60-day DL to clear room on the 40-man roster.
