Thompson was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh on Thursday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
The Phillies will hold off until Friday to make a corresponding roster move ahead of their series opener against the Nationals. Thompson picked up a win and a save over his brief, two-outing stint with the Phillies but he also gave up a home run in his 1.1 innings.
