De La Cruz is absent from the lineup for Friday's game in Cleveland.
It's the second straight game on the bench for De La Cruz, who had started eight straight and 14 of 15 games prior to that. He has produced just a .570 OPS in 22 contests since joining the Pirates. Billy McKinney is getting the call in right field Friday.
