Samaniego exited Thursday's Grapefruit League game with an apparent injury, Justice delos Santos of MLB.com reports.

Samaniego was in big-league spring training for the first time in his career and had a mixed level of success over three outings. He had an impressive 2022 campaign with Double-A Altoona, maintaining a 3.52 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and 23:9 K:BB across 30.2 frames. If the injury proves to be minor, Samaniego is a candidate to earn some innings out of Pittsburgh's bullpen in 2023.
