Hamels (5-0) allowed two runs, one of which was earned, on five hits and two walks while striking out 11 over eight innings to earn the win Sunday at Houston.
Hamels was staked to a five-run lead in the third inning, and he coasted easily to his fifth victory. After allowing three earned runs in both of his last two outings, he allowed one or fewer earned runs for the fourth time this season, lowering his ERA to 2.83 to go along with a 1.26 WHIP.
