Perez (1-2) pitched five scoreless innings Tuesday against the Blue Jays, allowing four hits and three walks while striking out four. He did not factor in the decision.
Perez has pitched reasonably well through his first six starts of 2016, sporting a respectable 3.60 ERA while making four quality starts. The left-hander has pitched into the seventh inning just once (and, he didn't make it through), due in part to a career-worst 4.6 BB/9. On the bright side, the 25-year-old has shown improvement in his fastball (92.5 mph) and ability to strand runners (75.6 percent). Perez's body of work, both past and present, suggest he's best suited for AL-only leagues.
