Perez took a no-decision against the Mariners as he allowed two runs on two hits and four walks over six innings. He struck out three.
Perez was shaky all afternoon but the Mariners couldn't make him pay. Perez induced just six swinging strikes in 88 pitches and gave up seven fly balls, but luckily the only one that left the yards was a solo shot off the bat of Nelson Cruz. Perez struck out just 48 in 78.2 innings last year , and his lack of swing-and-miss stuff puts a hard ceiling on his value.
