Cobb (elbow) will make his first rehab appearance for Triple-A Durham on Wednesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Cobb will try to make it three straight positive outings following his two-week-plus break from game action in mid-to-late July. The 28-year-old righty has allowed an earned run on three hits over the five innings spanning his last pair of appearances, which came for High-A Charlotte. With the leap in competition level, Cobb could be relatively close to a call-up to the big league club if he can sustain his recent level of performance while ramping up his workload.
