Snell (elbow) is joining the Rays in California for their upcoming series against the Angels and Dodgers, MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM reports.
Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports Snell was sharp during a rehab outing with Triple-A Durham on Thursday, retiring half of the six batters he faced on strikeouts and throwing 28 pitches overall. Snell reported feeling "significantly better" than he had in his first rehab start, and he could slot into the rotation next during the two-game set against the Dodgers on Tuesday or Wednesday. However, a more concrete plan is likely to come into focus once the 26-year-old has the chance to meet with team staff over the weekend, as the possibility still exists that Snell may need to throw in a simulated game situation before returning.
