Snell (1-3) surrendered only two hits but three earned runs and five walks in Wednesday's 6-0 loss to the Triple-A Indianapolis Indians. He struck out four.

The Rays' phenom continues to experience significant control problems, issuing a season-high five free passes after surrendering three in each of his three previous minor league starts. The untimely hits Wednesday also helped push Snell's ERA over 4.00 for the first time this season, and he's now given up seven earned runs over the last 10.1 innings. The 23-year-old's current 31:15 K:BB ratio makes his sharp major league debut versus the Yankees on April 23 -- when he walked only one batter over five innings -- seem like an outlier at the moment.
