Rays pitcher Drew Smyly (shoulder) threw 3 2/3 scoreless innings in a rehab start with Double-A Montgomery Sunday.
Smyly was scheduled to throw 70 pitches and wound up leaving the game after 68 pitches (40 strikes) having given up one hit and three walks while striking out four. He'll be re-evaluated to determine whether he'll need another rehab start before joining the Rays rotation, the Tampa Bay Times reports.
