Caballero is expected to see opportunities in the outfield following the promotion of Junior Caminero, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
With Caminero likely to get his fair share of chances at the hot corner, the Rays are looking to deploy Caballero elsewhere to get both on the field at the same time. "Just trying to be more useful for the team, trying to be ready for anything to come up, and if something comes up I want to be ready for it," said Caballero on preparing for outfield duty. "I don't just want to be out there and standing. I want to do my job and try to help the team in any way possible." Caballero last manned the outfield last season, making one start in left field.
