Garton was optioned to Triple-A Durham on Friday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Garton allowed no earned runs in seven of his nine appearances during his second stint in the majors this season but gave up a combined six earned runs in the other two. All in all, it tallied out to a 6.75 ERA and 1.75 WHIP since his call up on June 21.
