Diaz (groin) remains out of the lineup Wednesday against the Mets but hopes to return to action in Thursday's series finale, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Diaz injured his left groin in Sunday's win over the Yankees and is set to remain on the bench for a second straight game Wednesday, but he looks as though he'll avoid a trip to the 10-day injured list. He was available to pinch hit Tuesday and figures to be Wednesday, as well.
