Boesch has been diagnosed with a right wrist injury and is out indefinitely, Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe reports.
Boesch exited Friday's spring training game after diving for a fly ball and had to be helped off the field by trainers. After going in for X-rays, he has officially been diagnosed with a broken wrist. As a non-roster invitee, this effectively ends his bid at landing a spot on the Opening Day roster. A timetable on his return should be made available later in the weekend.
