Shugart is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Worcester on Monday, Rob Bradford of WEEI.com reports.
The move comes with Boston's top closer Kenley Jansen (shoulder) set to be shut down for the rest of the regular season. Shugart has appeared in three games for the Red Sox this season, with his last outing taking place Sept. 7 against the White Sox, when he allowed three runs on four hits and one walk while striking out two across 1.1 innings. In Triple-A this season, Shugart has a 4.46 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 80:32 K:BB across 70.2 innings.
