Santana (illness) went 1-for-4 as the designated hitter for Triple-A Worcester on Wednesday.
Santana kicked off a rehab assignment with the WooSox. It's unclear if he'll be added to the roster over the final four games, but his defensive versatility and speed could be useful with the Red Sox attempting to secure a playoff spot.
