The Red Sox outrighted Davis to Triple-A Worcester on Wednesday, Bill Koch of The Providence Journal reports.
He remains in the organization after going unclaimed off waivers upon being designated for assignment Monday. The 28-year-old outfielder saw action in 12 games with Boston earlier in the season but has otherwise spent the bulk of the campaign at Worcester, with whom he's slashed .198/.315/.318 with a 30.8 percent strikeout rate across 305 plate appearances.
