Jansen struck out three without allowing a baserunner over 1.1 innings to earn the save in Tuesday's 6-5 win over the Royals.
Luis Garcia found himself in some trouble in the eighth inning, but Jansen was able to strike out Maikel Garcia to strand the potential tying run at third base. In the ninth, Jansen retired the side on eight pitches to finish off the save, his 21st of the year. This was his first appearance since last Wednesday, when he suffered a back injury versus the Mariners, though he was cleared to pitch just a couple of days later. Jansen has a 2.95 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 47:15 K:BB over 39.1 innings on the year, but he's allowed six runs across his last 8.1 innings dating back to July 14.
