The Red Sox promoted Mayer from Double-A Portland to Triple-A Worcester on Sunday, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.
Mayer was dealing with some hip irritation to open the month, but he's now fully healthy ahead of making the leap to Triple-A. The 21-year-old has compiled a .307 average with eight home runs, 38 RBI, 60 runs scored and 13 stolen bases over 300 at-bats in 77 games with Double-A Portland this season. Fellow top prospects Roman Anthony and Kyle Teel will join Mayer in making the move to Worcester.
