McGuire is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.
McGuire will get a day off for the first time in the young season after he started behind the plate in both of Boston's first two games while going 1-for-6 at the dish. The Orioles were successful on 10 of 10 stolen base attempts off McGuire, while the staff ERA was 9.00. Connor Wong will catch for starting pitcher Tanner Houck in the series finale.
