Ramos signed a minor-league contract with the Red Sox on Monday, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.
The 27-year-old last played affiliated ball in 2019, when he hit .309/.400/.580 with 30 homers for Triple-A Albuquerque in the Rockies' system. With no big-league opportunity on the horizon despite that strong performance, he signed with the KBO's LG Twins and had a dominant year, hitting .278/.362/.592 and finishing second in the league with 38 homers despite playing just 117 games. His numbers fell to .243/.317/.422 the next season, however, and he was let go after just 51 games. If he can get back to his 2019-20 form, he'll have a shot at making his big-league debut, though the Red Sox have prospect Triston Casas ready to push Bobby Dalbec for playing time at first base at some point over the summer, so his window of opportunity may be slim.
