The Reds optioned Petty to minor-league camp Monday.
Petty was unscored upon in two Cactus League outings, collecting a 2:2 K:BB over four innings. There's no room in the Reds' rotation for the young right-hander, but Petty should play a role with the big club at some point this summer.
