Colon cleared waivers and was outrighted to the Reds' alternate training site Monday.
Colon struggled with inconsistent playing time in the majors over the start of the season as he hit .130 with a double and two RBI over 23 at-bats. As a result, he was designated for assignment by the Reds on Friday, but he'll remain in the organization after he was unable to find a spot on another team's 40-man roster.
