Suarez has cleared outright waivers and will remain with the Reds, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

Suarez has slashed only .208/.295/.410 with a 34.9 percent strikeout rate this season and doesn't have any defensive value, so it's not surprising that teams were unwilling to pay him around $3 million for the remainder of the season. The 35-year-old should continue to see everyday at-bats for Cincinnati down the stretch.
