The Reds signed Emanuel to a minor-league contract Friday.
Emanuel has been pitching in independent ball since the beginning of last season, but he's latched on with the Reds and should report to Triple-A Louisville for the stretch run. The lefty holds a 4.58 ERA and 25:11 K:BB over 35.1 career innings at the big-league level.
