Akiyama (hamstring) won't return this season, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Akiyama sustained a right hamstring strain in mid-September, and manager David Bell revealed Tuesday that none of the team's players on the injured list will return prior to the end of the year. The 33-year-old hit .204 with eight doubles, 16 runs, 12 RBI and two stolen bases across 88 games in 2021.
