Nunez signed a one-year contract with the Mexican League's Toros de Tijuana on Wednesday.
After spending the 2022 season in Japan with the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters of Nippon Professional Baseball, Nunez will return to North America to continue his career, albeit outside of affiliated ball. The 28-year-old slugger has previously spent six seasons in MLB, most recently seeing action with the Tigers for 14 games during the 2021 campaign.
