Diaz was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left wrist sprain Friday.
Diaz was believed to be dealing with a hand injury over the last few days, but he recently underwent an MRI that apparently revealed ligament damage in his left wrist. He'll be unavailable for at least a week and a half, while Dom Nunez was called up from Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday to provide additional help behind the plate.
