Rockies' Tommy Doyle: Returns to Triple-A

Doyle was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Doyle had been scored upon in five straight appearances and will now head back to the minors. Nick Mears was recalled from Triple-A to replace Doyle on the Rockies' active roster and in the bullpen.
