The Royals designated Veneziano for assignment Sunday.
The left-hander has been at Triple-A Omaha since mid-June and has now lost hist place on the 40-man roster. Veneziano has a 4.80 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 76:42 K:BB over 90 innings at Triple-A this season, and he could remain with Omaha if he passes through waivers unclaimed.
