The Royals re-signed Cox to a minor-league contract Tuesday.
Cox opted out of his minor-league contract with Kansas City last week but has ultimately returned on a re-worked deal. The left-handed reliever holds a 4.03 ERA and 29:17 K:BB in 29 innings with Triple-A Omaha this season.
