Adams was recalled by the Royals on Monday.
Adams made just one appearance in his previous stint on the Royals' roster, allowing three runs on four hits while recording just five outs. He now owns an 8.57 ERA in 34.2 major-league innings, meaning he's unlikely to fill anything but a low-leverage relief role during his time with the club. Ian Kennedy (calf) landed on the injured list in a corresponding move.
